The average market price in France was 169.57 €/100 kg carcass for the months of January and February 2020 and after Corona virus spread, there was a rise in prices and average market price for March was 174.25 €/100 kg carcass. However, when we take a look at the price in France, we can see it is clearly below the two other main European pork producing countries. The average market price in Germany for the months of January and February 2020 was 197.38 €100 kg carcass, in March – 204.97 €/100 kg carcass. Accordingly, prices in Spain were 180.37 and 192.08 €/100 kg carcass. Situation in Lithuania was similar and average price in January/February was 190.12 €/100 kg carcass, in March – 198.89 €/100 kg carcass.
